Privacy Notice – GDPR Compliance It is important that our clients know exactly what we do with their personal data that they and others provide to us. This Privacy Notice tells you what to expect in relation to personal information about you which is collected, handled and processed by Liam McGrath & Co.
Liam Mc Grath & Co, Dublin Road, Roscrea, Co Tipperary is the Data Controller and Processor. We acknowledge and agree that any personal data of yours that we handle will be processed in accordance with all applicable data protection laws in force from time to time.
The General Data Protection Regulation is a new EU regulation which comes into effect on May 25 2018. GDPR will update existing data protection law and place a greater accountability on organisations when using personal information and give you more control over your personal data.
The information about you we may collect, hold and process is set out below:
· Information collected and processed for completing accounts and taxation affairs is as follows: · Data to identify you, including your contact information; · Your name; · Your address; · Your email address; · Your telephone number; · Passport/ID/Licence; · Date of Birth, Date of Marriage; · Your marital status; · PPS Number; · In certain cases, some medical Information; · Any other related information you provide; · Information you consent to us using; · Financial Information (Pension schemes, payroll details, revenue data, bank accounts and invoices, etc ).
On occasion information regarding employees and sub-contractors, who are not direct clients of the firm, may be processed in order to complete payroll services and RCT returns.
How we use the information: We will use any personal data you have given to us to provide the service information requested and to keep you informed of any changes to that information. You have agreed and consented to us using your data in such a way to complete your service request however, you can withdraw your consent at any time. The above information is used to provide our services to you in our capacity as an accountancy, bookkeeping and tax advisory firm based on your requirements as set out below, with a view to filing tax returns with Revenue and/or information for banks and other institutions on request. The information under A above may be used as follows: · To complete accounts; · To file various tax returns; · To input data for bookkeeping; · To complete payroll figures, subcontractor returns and tax returns; How we hold the information All the personal data we have is stored in a locked and secure area. Any personal data we collect record or use in any way whether it is held on paper, on computer or other media will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation.
Disclosure of your information We may need to share certain information with a company/body outside of ours to transact your service requests effectively, such as, Revenue as required by tax law, and only to other 3rd parties when authorised and necessary to fulfil our obligations. In the event an external body contacts us requesting sensitive information in relation to you, we will do so based on the authorisation given.
What is the legal basis for processing the information We will rely on your consent to process the information above which is collected at the outset of you becoming a client of this firm. In respect of medical information, the basis for us processing this information is that it is required to claim the income tax relief on this expense. Once your data has been processed for the purpose of fulfilling our obligations, your data will be ready for collection by you or your authorized person at our offices in Roscrea by appointment. For the purposes of tax returns, payroll duties and refunds, where relevant, we are legally obliged to provide information to Revenue.
How Long we hold your data : How long we hold your data for is subject to legislation and regulatory rules we must follow. It is our current intention to return data bi-annually.
Changes to the privacy notice: We may update our Data Privacy Notice from time to time. |
